Stripes and Peplum

Can you believe it was snowing the other day when I took these photos?! In March. Ugh. We've had such nice weather lately and then...this. But it's warming up again now! I definately have Spring fever!
I wore this to work the other day. I'm loving the peplum trend for Spring and I really loved the stripe combo on this top. I also just snagged this vintage rust colored blazer in perfect condition!!

Craft Sunday - DIY Bracelet!

Hey Everyone! It's been a busy week! I took lots of outfit pics but haven't had the chance to get them up yet... But in honor of craft Sunday I thought I'd share the bracelet I made this weekend. Yes! I MADE this!! I'm so proud.
I originally found the idea on pinterest which led me to Beverly's wonderful blog, Flamingo Toes. She found the inspiration while browsing Anthro jewelry and decided to make her own! If you want step by step instructions just follow the link to her blog.

I decided to use the buttons and liner fabric on these otherwise ugly jeans along with some ribbon, lace and beads. I got the metal bracelet cuff at Michael's.

I wanted my bracelet to be Spring-y so I used some mustard and green fabric and turquoise beads - I can't resist turquoise jewelry!

Making the fabric into cute little yo-yo's was probably the hardest part of this project. The rest was pretty much just wrapping and gluing. And of course, placement.

And...the finished product!!

I love how it turned out! It looks as good as something you would find in a boutique and it was so simple and fun to make!

Yellow Wall

I've been so excited to put these photos up, I decided to skip over a few outfits and share them! I found this awesome yellow wall on the side of one of my favorite boutiques a couple blocks from my house and thought it would be a perfect backdrop.

This dress is a brand new find from another nearby boutique I love, and the blazer is new to me! I thrifted it and although it's a little big I absolutely love the style!

Oh, and check out my nail art! I got the idea from a pic of Zooey Deschanel (who I absolutely adore) 's adorable bow tie nails for the golden globes. I just switched up the colors a bit. And don't get too critical of my skills because this is my right hand...haha.

Well, I'm off to do a little DIY. I've been slacking on posting my little projects lately. Hopefully I'll have this one up soon :)

Green Lace

I'm wearing jeans! It's kind of rare that I do. I prefer dresses and skirts because I love to dress up and I wear jeans to work a lot. But on this particular day I decided to put together a more casual outfit....still, with heels of course!

I think this is the first time I've had my bag in a photo, which is crazy because I always have it with me! I absolutely LOVE this bag. I coveted it from the moment it appeared on ModCloth's website and it became mine on Christmas day :)

This green lace top was also gifted to me by my wonderful sister in-law. I was amazed by her ability to pick something so perfect for me! Green is one of my favorite colors right now and I always love a little lace.

And the heels?? I just have to tell you I picked them up for $10 on the sale rack at target! I love how neutral and elegant they are. They go with everything!!
