Blacksmith Shop

Sometimes Ethan and I go on walks together. Sometimes when it's really nice out we'll even go for a jog. We had passed this awesome building a few times and I wondered if anyone owned it (and would be upset if I took photos there). It's kind of in between houses in our suburb neighborhood. Then I noticed a marker and plaque on the side of the building. Turns out it used to be a blacksmith shop and is now a State Historic Site.

I peeked in a crack in the old wood door and it looked like there were still old tools and things inside! I wonder if they ever open it for tours? It's such a cool site. I love the architecture of the brick arches and the rusty scraps of metal laying around.

I wore a pleated maxi skirt I found for super cheap with my mint blazer, which has become one of my favorite pieces this spring! My bag is new... well new to me. It's actually vintage. I like to have a smaller bag to carry everywhere in the Summer. It makes me feel lighter and more carefree.

Speaking of Summer, I've been really itching for it lately! We've had such nice warm weather lately which makes it so hard when it's not nice. I love Spring, but Summer has a special place in my heart.

True Love Stories Never Have Endings

"True love stories never have endings," and this is only still the beginning of ours. As I mentioned in my last post, my dear Ethan and I just celebrated our 2 year marriage anniversary!! I can hardly believe we've been married a whole 2 years! I can remember the anticipation waiting for our day to come like it was yesterday!

We were high school sweethearts and dated for 2 years before getting married so this also marks 4 blissful years we've spent together! (We actually got married on the exact date of our 2 year dating mark!)

This guy is the one who makes my life complete. He's the one who's smile I wake up to every morning, the one who I can't wait to get home to see, the one I snuggle up to at night, the one who makes anything a happy adventure, the one who makes me laugh constantly, the one who always knows how to comfort me or cheer me up, the one I can and do tell literally EVERYTHING to. He's my world and I'm smitten knowing he chose me.

2 years ago (minus a few days) he made me the happiest, luckiest girl in the world and married me for time and eternity. Little things everyday remind me why I'm overwhelmed and head over heels in love with him. So here's to our first 2 year of marriage and the brilliant journey of the rest of our lives!

(We took the above photos in Ethan's Grandma's backyard this past Tuesday on our anniversary before going out for a nice dinner and seeing Mirror Mirror. We're still waiting for a weekend clear of obstacles to get away for a few days.)

These are  few of my favorite photos from our wedding and engagement sessions just for fun :)

Easter Weekend

Wow it's been a busy week! Easter weekend was full of fun activities....Saturday was spent shopping at the new City Creek Mall, dying Easter eggs and Barbecuing and Sunday we of course had a big family dinner (at both parents). Tuesday was our 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! I can't believe we've been married so long! Time flies! (expect my next post to be a bit sappy..) Since then it's basically been work, work, work. So I apologize for my absence.

Here's a couple (crappy) pics from Saturday at City Creek. I actually wore jeans! Haha. I felt so dressed down. The blouse is one of my latest favorites. I love the color, the floral and especially the ascot tie!

I love that Mall. I wish we lived closer to it. It seriously has everything. J Crew, H&M, a huge Forever21, BCBG, Steve Madden...Even a Coach store and a Tiffany's- which are fun to look in and wish you could afford anything.

Sunday I dressed up a little more for Easter and wore the new top and skirt I picked up at the two-story Forever21 on Saturday.

That's my cute Hubby pushing me on the swings :) I adore him.
Oh, and these ultra cute shoes?! I won them in a blog giveaway. I couldn't believe it! They're from BAIT footwear. Check them out they have so many cute pairs of shoes! I'm obsessed.

The cardigan I'm wearing started out as just as a basic rust-colored button-up but I decided to do a little DIY project and add these cute lace detailed elbow patches. I can't get enough of elbow patches lately! I just cut out some leather in an oval and sewed it onto the elbows, then sewed some lace trim around it and tah-dah!

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend/week! I can't believe it's about to be the weekend again! This week seriously went by so fast!

Red Hot and Mint

Hey again!! It's been a while! I'm excited to share one of my favorite outfits yet! Mint has been popping up everywhere this Spring and I'm loving it! It's one of my favorite colors. I decided to mix it with these hot red pants for an eclectic, fun style.

Our little town has lots of fun old buildings, especially down main street which means lots of potential for outfit shots! I've just begun seeking out neat spots and can't wait to plan some more. I hate always taking pics outside our apartment but a lot of times that's all we have time for. I'm making a goal to have more interesting backdrops for my photos!

Oh, some exciting news for fashionistas in Utah! A little over a week ago the City Creek Mall opened in Salt Lake. It's an upscale mall and houses many high fashion stores including the first Tiffany's in the state! Naturally I was there opening weekend with my sister to scope it out, and lemme just say..I'm impressed. Definitely my new favorite place to shop (even if it's mostly window shopping) I picked up most of this outfit at the spacious two-story forever 21 there.
