Hello to another White Wednesday! These photos are a few weeks old but the scenery hasn't changed. There's still a thick coating of white everywhere you look. And the stubborn temperature refuses to rise above about 10 degrees. I've definitely caught Spring Fever!! Have you?

So my Granny's funeral was yesterday and I have to admit it was the most peaceful funeral I've been to. I smiled as much as I cried. I always remember her as such a happy person and I feel like she would have wanted things to be that way. I feel like she was there comforting us all :)

Since the funeral was an hour away and there was a separate viewing Monday night, Ethan and I took up the opportunity to stay at My Granny's house overnight for the first and last time. It was kind of special to see everything how it always was one last time. My Grandma was staying the night as well and let me take a few vintage pieces to remember Granny Mae by. I'm excited to show you them in the future! 

So you'll probably be seeing a lot of posts with swapped items for the next little while. I had a lot of swap stuff needing to be photographed over the weekend so I shot like 8 outfits on Sunday. Needless to say, I'll probably be posting more often as well! This lovely pale pink skirt is Ashley's. I desperately need more longer-length skirts for the Winter!

Happy Monday dears! I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all the kind words you left on my last post. It's seriously amazing to know I have so much support and positive thoughts coming my way from all you wonderful people :) It's always a hard thing losing a loved one but I'm just thankful to have had her in my life and for all the beautiful memories she left behind!

Ok, so on to Inspiration Monday! It's been a while since I've joined in, it feels good! Today's inspiration comes from the always stylish Alexa Chung (and look at those teeny tiny legs!) It's basically a casual take on the classic LBD.

 I chose a more boxy dress than Alexa was wearing just because I love this dress but rarely wear it. The vintage-looking bib is my favorite part! I of course had to add tights since it's SO cold. You can tell it's snowing in these photos. I was still freezing despite the tights.

Well, have a wonderful start to your week! I'm feeling the need to start off with a little caffeine. I can't seem to catch a long enough break these days... what about you?

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Besides the usual craziness of work and life I've been mourning the loss of a very special loved one. My Great-Grandma Mae passed away this past Thursday. It was very peaceful and it was probably time (She was 101 years old) but still a bit hard for all those who loved her. In the photo above she's the one on the left in that glamorous pink dress. This photo was taken on Mother's Day 1967. Next to her is her mother Luella holding my Mom as a baby and then the one wearing those awesome retro glasses is my Grandma Marge.

My Granny Mae was the most Spunky, Fun, Outgoing woman who loved life. Everyone who knew her loved her and everyone in her little town knew her. She made sure of that :) In the last few years of her life she loved to tell everyone who would lend an ear how old she was. She was proud of the long happy life she lead. She was such a strong vibrant woman. Every birthday party of hers I can remember going to was nothing ordinary. She'd spend the whole year planning the event and have an ad put in the paper so everyone could come! One year she had a Luau themed party and did the hula on stage even though she was well in her 90's. My favorite was her 97th birthday  celebration where we got to go hot air ballooning with her and she flirted with the men running the balloon. Haha! She always knew how to have fun and she lived on her own until the day she died.

 Granny Mae, I will miss you dearly. You lived a very long, happy life and your spunky & energetic personality will always be remembered!! I'm so blessed to have had you in my life for these 22 years. As you often said, I will love you to the end of the numbers!

 I love anything with bows lately! Can't get enough. My vintage Holiday dress had a beautiful bow back and I just bought the cutest rain boots with bows! I couldn't resist this gorgeous top when I saw it.

Eshakti contacted me a little bit ago to do a review and I immediately said yes! I've heard so much about the company and browsed through their pretty dresses a few times so I couldn't be more excited! If you haven't heard yet, everything they sell can be customized. Want a longer skirt? Shorter skirt? Add sleeves? Change the neckline? They'll even add pockets! You can also put in your exact measurements to ensure a perfect fit! 

It was such a hard decision but I decided to go with this top over a dress because I could use it more than yet another dress and I fell in love with the cute bow design! This top was listed as sleeveless but I loved the idea of it with half-sleeves so I added some and also lengthened the hemline a little! I LOVE it!

I thought it quite fitting to finally try that "hair bow" tutorial I pinned. It took a few times and still didn't turn out perfect, but I think it's pretty cute!

These photos were taken in my parent's front yard. Right after we went inside a couple does came right up near the house looking for food so I snapped a few shots through the window! It's not unusual to see deer roaming around in my parent's town but they never stand still for long!
