Indian Summer

TGIF!! I can't tell you all how ready I am for the weekend! I really need some time to just kick back and not have anything to worry about for a bit. Anyone have fun plans? We don't have much planned but spontaneous fun is often the best kind!

So this outfit is from a week or so ago when the weather was absolutely perfect. "Indian summer" is my favorite time of year. That perfect mix between summer and fall where the days are warm and sunny and the nights are just crisp enough for a light jacket... doesn't get better than that!

I finally gave in and bought a bubble necklace!! I've loved it ever since I saw it on J. Crew's site (and just about everywhere else since!) It's kind of the perfect statement necklace. But, I wasn't willing to pay J. Crew's price so... I found this baby for $10! Score! Oh, and I LOVE this cardigan I picked up at ModCloth's big sale. It's the perfect oatmeal color, amazing cut, and I love the embroidery detail.

Well, have a lovely weekend girlies!

First Of Fall

Fall is finally here!! Oh, how I've missed the crisp air, the colorful leaves, the smell of pumpkin pie, and wearing layers upon layers! Saturday was the first official day of Fall but we were SO busy running around I didn't get a chance to take these pics until Sunday. And of course I'm just now posting them....life seems so hectic lately!
Before I forget! Many of you have noticed my beautiful new header! I'd like to say a BIG THANKS to the oh-so-amazing Allison of ShyScout for redesigning it for me! I couldn't be happier with it! Check her out if you're ever wanting a fresh, pretty new design!!

We headed up the nearest (and best) canyon and multi-tasked taking pics and enjoying the STUNNING scenery! It was the perfect day to visit, all the leaves are at the peak of their vibrancy. It was crowded for that reason, we had to keep waiting for cars to pass before snapping photos.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Ours was jam-packed with sky-diving, tattoos, fresh air, leaves, and movies. For my Dad's 50th we sent him skydiving!! I started the tradition when I turned 18 just because I'm an adrenaline junkie and now my sister and Dad have both gone and I've convinced Ethan to do it with me on our 3 year anniversary!
Speaking of my dear Hubby, below is a photo of the tattoo he got over the weekend. It says "and the reason is you" with our wedding date underneath. I love it so much! He's such a sweetheart through and through.

This blazer is part of my ModCloth sale splurge and I have to say its probably my favorite fit of all my blazers. But, I have to tell you, I spilled on it while eating curry (surprise, I ALWAYS spill) and the dry cleaners couldn't completely get it out :( it has an oil stain on it now but I just can't stop wearing it! Silly clumsy me... If it was still available I'd buy another one!

Engag-e-versary

Today marks 3 years since my one and only proposed to me under the stars! It was surreal and perfect. Breathtakingly romantic. Just what I'd always wanted but SO much better! I'll never forget that night.
7 months later we were married in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and sealed together forever. He's my soul mate. He makes me whole. We have the most beautiful adventures together and he makes everything exciting! I love every minute of our journey together and I seriously can't wait to spend the rest of my life enjoying the little things about him that brighten my soul and discovering new things to adore about him!

I hope everyone someday gets to experience a love so true and pure because it's honestly the most fulfilling, delightful thing in life!

On another note, I felt very "little house on the prairie" in these photos. Ever since I tried milk maid braids I can't stop wearing them! They're so simple and pretty.
This dress is from my ModCloth loot. I love, love the soft floral pattern, although the fit is a little odd..

Inspiration Monday: (I'm Alive!)

Hi all! It's been a while! I thought I'd post today and assure you I am after all, alive. I know, I know, you're relieved (or not). I realize I didn't post AT ALL last week, although it wasn't on purpose. Life just got....hectic. It was a well-needed break and I feel refreshed and full of new ideas! Inspiration Monday this week was just the thing to get me back on track! A beautiful Eva Mendes in a simple, feminine look.

When I saw this look I immediately knew what belt I would wear, and that my usual bag was the perfect fit! The rest, however took some thinking. This skirt is the closest to brown I own (I don't wear a lot of brown) and since the bank has a no-t-shirt policy I threw on this lace top before heading to work. As for the shoes, I couldn't resist a little color so I broke away from Eva's neutral-colored ones opting for a pretty blue.

So what has everyone been up to the last week?! I desperately need to catch up! I feel like I've missed so much. My week was spent mostly soaking up quality time with my Hubby and trying to find peace in all the chaos. We went to the state fair Saturday and filled up on cinnamon almonds and corn on the cob then finished the night at the opening of a new haunted attraction. (I wouldn't recommend it if you have a severe irrational fear of werewolves like me....)

Hope your week is off to a good start! Be sure to check out what other's came up with for Inspiration Monday over at Two Birds and expect me to be making the rounds to catch up with everyone!!

No Labor Here!

Here's a peek at what we did over the Labor Day Weekend!  I was hoping to have some pics from our visit to the aquarium as well but my camera died halfway through our visit and I didn't really get anything good :( These pics are from our drive up the canyon and visit to Silver Lake (the lake is mostly dried up right now unfortunately)

This sweet little doggy came with us. He's not ours, my parents were watching him for a friend, but I could almost steal him! He's adorable and really took a liking to me. They watch him fairly often, his name is Kobe.

This is part 2 of my "Look at my ModCloth Sale Loot! Extravaganza" in case you were wondering. I got this colorblock tank for the agreeable price of $9.99. Trying to find a way to add some sleeves (and not liking any of my many cardigans) I came up with the brilliant idea to wear my Jason Wu blouse underneath as the navies matched perfectly. I like how it turned out, it added poofy polka dotted sleeves and a cute tie in front. This headwrap is the free gift ModCloth threw in my order. (I feel like the adorable Kristine wearing it)

I even managed to snap a pic with my cute Hubby :) I know you're so glad! (that's Kobe riding the wind in the bottom right pic, he LOVES sticking his head out the window and letting his beard fly up)

Well, happy weekend again already!! We'll be kicking it off with a celebration tonight. Happy 50th Dad!

Inspiration Tuesday? : Punk Rock Kid

So Inspiration Monday has become Inspiration Tuesday this week. Apologies for not posting yesterday, I was too busy soaking in the last hours of freedom before going back to work today!
Ok, so this week Megan & Nora chose yet ANOTHER Jessica just for me ;) Her name is Jessica Hart and she's apparently a model (if you couldn't tell right away)

This look is SO not me. But, I managed to pull something together with the only band tee I own (which I bought to wear for Halloween one year, as a punk rock kid, mind you)

The jeans however, are totally me. I forgot I had these babies! Found them just in time for floral jeans to be in again. Yay!

And THIS ^ is my "I feel odd.." face. My Hubby loved the look. He said I looked "bad ass and sexy" Ha! I pretty much look like the female version of him:

Hope everyone had an awesome Labor Day Weekend! Can't wait to see what you all did! We headed up the Canyon Sunday and visited an aquarium Monday before ending the weekend with a yummy BBQ! I'll post more later this week.

Outfit Details:
Ramones Tee and Boots - Hot Topic
Floral Jeggings - Wet Seal
